Solar products.

AEC Solar installs only panels that pass four checks: built for upstate snow and wind, a written warranty on power output, a manufacturer strong enough to honor it, and parts and support we can get here. We build systems on Enphase microinverters as an Enphase Platinum Installer, or on FranklinWH as a FranklinWH certified installer.

We don't sell brands. We hold standards.

Rooftop solar on a cedar-shingle home with a pool, installed by AEC Solar

Where it goes.

Every system is designed around your property. Most go on the roof, and plenty don't.

On your roof

The most common home for solar. We design around your roof's layout, pitch, and shade, and back every roof penetration with a 25-year roof penetration warranty.

Ground-mounted solar array on an open property, installed by AEC Solar

On open land

For properties with room to spare, or a roof that isn't a good fit. A ground mount sits at the ideal angle, clear of shade, and stays easy to reach for snow and service.

Timber-frame solar pergola over a patio, built by AEC Solar

Over the patio or driveway

A solar pergola or carport shades the space underneath and makes power overhead. Custom-built structures that do two jobs at once.

Every panel has to earn its spot.

We call it the AEC Bar. We've installed solar since 1991, long enough to watch big-name panel makers leave the market and take their customers' warranties with them. So before a panel goes on a single roof, it has to pass four checks.

Built for our weather

Rated for the snow load and wind of an upstate winter, not just a sunny-state spec sheet.

A warranty on power, not just the panel

A written guarantee of how much it will still produce decades from now, not only that the glass and frame hold together.

A company that can keep its promise

We look at the manufacturer's finances and track record. A warranty is only worth something if the company is still around to honor it.

Support that reaches us here

Parts and manufacturer support we can actually get, so a service call never stalls waiting on someone overseas.

Pass all four and it makes our list. Then we match it to your roof, your budget, and how you're paying.

Your proposal names the exact panel, with its spec sheet and warranty documents, in writing.

Ask your Energy Advisor which panels are on our list right now.

Two ways we build the system.

The panels make the power. What converts and manages it decides how your system behaves day to day.

Enphase

A brain under every panel.

A microinverter under each panel, so shade on one doesn't drag down the rest, and you can see every panel's output in the app.

FranklinWH

Everything on one system.

The home battery's built-in inverter runs the panels, with an optimizer on each one. Solar, storage, and backup from one company, managed in one app.

Adding backup power? Home battery backup

Three layers of protection.

A warranty is a promise. Here's who's making each one.

Layer 1

The manufacturer

Covers the panel and its power output in writing, from a company we've checked can stand behind it.

Layer 2

AEC's workmanship

Our 10-year workmanship warranty covers the install itself, and our 25-year roof penetration warranty covers every spot where we attach to your roof.

Layer 3

The installer who answers

We've been picking up the phone for customers since 1991. No spec sheet can print that.

Straight answers.

Anything specific to your home goes in your proposal.

Which solar panels does AEC Solar install?

A short list of panels that pass our four checks: built for our weather, a warranty on power output, a manufacturer strong enough to keep its promise, and support we can reach. The list changes as the market does, so your Energy Advisor will tell you what's on it right now, and your proposal names the exact panel in writing.

Can I ask for a specific panel brand?

Yes. If it's on our list, we'll quote it. If it isn't, we'll tell you which of the four checks it didn't pass.

What happens if a panel manufacturer leaves the market?

It's the risk we work hardest to avoid, which is why we check a manufacturer's finances before a single panel goes on a roof. If it ever happens, your system keeps producing and our workmanship warranty still covers our install.

Roof, ground mount, or pergola: which is right for me?

It depends on your roof's condition, direction and shade, and on how much open land you have. We look at all of it on the first visit and recommend what makes the most sense for your property.
